Induced pluripotent stem cells allow us to create an abundant supply of cardiomyocytes derived from adult somatic cells. Our differentiation protocol efficiently directs iPSCs to functional cardiomyocytes using Wnt pathway modulation and small molecules. Combined with our purification protocol, we can generate a highly purified population of cardiomyocytes (>97% cTnT-positive). Our cells also exhibit cardiomyocyte-like morphology and show cardiac sarcomeric markers, cTnT, and alpha-actinin (ACTN2) markers.
